PowerPoint

PowerPoint Presentation

I felt quite comfortable with this task to create a PowerPoint (PP), as in the past I have used PP as a photo story for an assessment piece. In my prac classroom I have utilised a PP to display the prep students' sports day with text and pictures, which we displayed to the parents at the end of the day. Through this task I have learned how versatile a PP can be, previously I conceptualised them as platforms to mainly display photos or information. After completing the task and adding hyperlinks my eyes were open a wider view of possibilities.

Some of my ideas after research:
* Off-line quizzes
* Directed learning journey
* Teachers can place questions arranged on slides for students to answer as part of collaborative learning when presentations are shared
* Display students' learning journeys within a unit of work, which can be shared with the school, classroom and parents
* Interactive assessment piece
* Photo books
* Flash cards for students to remember concepts, ideas, rules. This can be applied to sounds or music to cue the students memory

I would definitely utilise PP as a teaching, learning and sharing tool in the near future. I believe PP is an engaging ICT tool for students and used in assessment pieces would further their learning in the use of ITC.
